Recruitment Process
Joining a fraternity is a big decision… one that will last a lifetime. Many times, incoming students to KU who are interested in joining a fraternity don’t know what to look for or where to start. We’re here to help!
The recruitment process is a two-way street. We are evaluating you, and at the same time, you are evaluating us. We want to make sure you have the qualities of what it takes to be a great SigEp. At the same time, we also want to make sure you feel comfortable and get to know us and the brothers of SigEp and what we stand for.
Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is a membership organization, and bids (invitations to join) are carefully selected by the Vice President of Recruitment and the Recruitment Coordinator.
How Does Recruitment Work?

Complete the online membership application
Attend
Attend KU SigEp recruitment events and informational dinners
Communicate
Communicate with the VP of Recruitment, Recruitment Chairmen and other brothers. If you are really interested in our fraternity, make sure we know it!
Ask Questions
Get to know the members. Find out how your first year works with grade requirements and membership standards. We want you to feel comfortable and get to know the brothers of SigEp.
Sign
Sign the bid card and membership contracts (by official invitation only).
If invited to join, you will sign the bid card and KU SigEp membership contracts. Then, the recruitment team will send you a packet of important information in the mail with pertinent information such as move-in dates, a list of new members in your class, logistical info, etc. We are here to help make it a seamless and fun process!
