It began at Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England.

Yale and Harvard Universities later adopted it in the United States. And now SigEp brings it to you. It’s the Residential Learning Community—formally established in 2000—this program expands upon the traditional residential college model. For SigEp, a learning community incorporates collaboration between academic professionals, undergraduates, the university, and the chapter facility where there is an incredible opportunity for personal growth and educational development.

The Balanced Man Program

The Balanced Man Program is SigEp’s difference in the Greek community. The BMP offers a no-pledging, four year experience focused on scholarship, leadership, and life skills. Members learn to live their best lives through unique, rewarding programming tailored to fit their needs and prepare them for the journey of life ahead. By developing a Sound Mind in a Sound Body, SigEp members are given the tools to succeed during school and beyond. The BMP provides a fun, practical way for member to achieve their goals through a series of self-paced challenges that center on personal growth and development. The BMP’s unique structure allows chapters to develop programming to fit their campus experience and recruit the best men year-round.

The Leadership Continuum

The Leadership Continuum is an award-winning series of distinct and progressive leadership opportunities aimed at teaching and reinforcing SigEp values to a Brother from the day he joins to the day he graduates. Through self-discovery, analysis, and interaction, Brothers develop skills necessary to lead balanced lives and to continue leading the fraternity world.

Programs include EDGE, a SigEp new member will experience a 24-hour lesson in overcoming obstacles toward a life of achievement; the Carlson Leadership Academy, elected officers develop key life skills and share best practices to lead their chapter to excellence; the Ruck Leadership Institute, SigEp’s most talented Brothers develop critical mentoring skills to push our chapters to continue to be “the Fraternity that will be different”; and the Tragos Quest to Greece, SigEp’s capstone of leadership development, truly separates our Fraternity from others.
